RULES

1. The distance of the race is 900 m approximately. The departure point is from the rock “Sa Palomera” and the arrival at the little beach close to the harbour (once crossed the marked line on the sand). Everybody can take part even if is not affiliate.

2. Registration

-Registration fee is 5 euros per swimmer in all cases, registrations done online or in person, and independently of the category. In no case the registration is formalized without the payment.
- Under no circumstances the amount paid for registration fee will be returned.
- Children under 12 years old will have to be accompanied on the day of the race by a responsible adult. Both, the adult and the child must be correctly registered at the race.
- Registration can be done by:
A. Online on the web http: /www.blanes.cat/travessiadelportdeblanes from July 9th, 2018 and until Friday August 3rd, 2018 at 12 p.m. or up to the participation limit established in 400 people.
B. In person on the same day of the race from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. next to Sa Palomera or up to the established participation limit of 400 people.


Note: If from 9.45 a.m. the 400 numbers have been run out and there are still participants registered by Internet who have not collected their race number, the organization can decide how to act in relation to the free places.


3. Kit’s collection
- The participants who have made the registration online can collect the participation kit from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. next to Sa Palomera. The receipt received by e-mail must be submitted once the registration has been completed.
- Participants that make the registration in person will be given the participation kit at the same time.
- The participation kit, which will be delivered to all swimmers, is a bathroom hat with the participation number, which must be worn during the race, and a chip as well as a bag in case you want to use the service of cloakroom
(At the end of the race the chip must be returned otherwise the participant will be asked to pay it – 6€ )


4. Cloakroom service
Close to the departure point (Sa Palomera), the race staff will place a cloakroom service from 8 a.m to 9.30 a.m. They will take the bags to the arrival point. From 9.30 a.m. there will be no cloakroom service.

5. The race staff is responsible for the whole organization. His decisions are unappealable. Each club representative as well as single swimmers have to carry out the organization rules.






6. No material to float easier or to be propelled is allowed. This could be a disqualification ground.

7. The organization has full discretion to cancel the race due to unsafe weather conditions.

8. Each Club, their accredited delegates that represent them and single swimmers are responsible for their own discipline, order and safety.






9. The organization recommends clubs and participants not to take part to the event if they do not have the necessary capacity to swim and insist on the obligation to accept safety points.

10. If we are forced to cancel the Open Swim due to weather conditions (bad weather, bad sea conditions, jellyfish) and/or reasons beyond our control the race would be postponed to August, the 12th with the same timetable.

11. This activity is covered by the insurance policy signed by the City Council of Blanes.

POSITIONS AND AWARDS
The prize-giving and breakfast for the swimmers will be at about 11.15 am. in the “Confradia de Pescadors”. The 3 first Open winners will get a trophy. Following participants will also get a trophy: The first home, male and female as well as the oldest and youngest competitors of the male and female category. Race souvenirs will be distributed to all swimmers. The ranking will be available at www.blanes.cat/esports from August 13th.





IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR SWIMMERS, PARTICIPANTS AND DELEGATES
- All swimmers swim at their own risk.
- The race staff is responsible for the ranking and registrations.
- For the good development of the race the staff asks to comply with all rules.
- The registration at the 76^th Open Race means the acceptance of the rules.
- Official complaints can be made at the Sports Department during office hours maximum until Tuesday August, 7th at 2.00 p.m.
